One of the highlights of my week was Pringle…prior to the show they projected onto the walls, a short film starring tilda swinton. The film was shot by creative director Ryan McGinely, the pearlescent Tilda gracefully wandered the iconic Scottish ruins barefoot. It was haunting to say the least but stunning and a perfect introduction for the collection to come…
I also loved Nick Knights exhibition at Somerset House, which was based around the themes of process, participation and performance. Packed full of all ‘faces of fashion’, the old and the new… it was a real social gathering, and the exhibition showcased over twenty projects from Showstudio’s archives alongside unique new films, artworks and live fashion shoots. It was indeed ‘groundbreaking’…
Fashion Week is an opportunity to preview the designers collections, however the scout in me first off notices the models… It was really interesting to see whos still being booked and who are Russels latest finds…
Luella was one of my favourite shows, I thought the casting was fab, and the hair and makeup amazing!!! The collection was a girls dream, hair piled high tied with patent bows, high waisted shorts and skirts, polka dots and a combination of bright colours, which altogether gave off a vibe from the early 60’s. Although I thought the whole show was extremely well cast, Abbey Lee and Katlin Aas really stood out for me…

Abbey has small almost child-like features, defined cheekbones, full lips and a great height!! She was perfect for the ‘doll’ image that Luella portrayed through her collection.
Katlin has the most beautiful nose…I love a nose!!! The combination of her pale skin and killer bones make her face so appealing. She reminds me of a young Vivienne Solari (another beauty that I never get bored of looking at!!)
Christopher Kane was another show that I thought was extremely well cast…
Lara Stone definitely does it for me, it’s the gap in her teeth, the way her nose descends into a V, her cupid top lip and her full figure…she’s a natural beauty, and reminds me very much of my all time favourite model Lauren Hutton!!!
Frida Gustavsson is a fresh face on the horizon!! Her button nose makes her so young and innocent looking, yet her deep set eyes exemplify mystery…

Burberry was awesome, and of course, Anna S looked incredible, she is the epitome of perfection! She has such a beautiful shaped face, an almost button like nose... steely blue eyes, what an entrancing gaze!!! She’s incredibly captivating, and leaves me speechless...

From observing all of the new girls, aside from all above, I reckon Ranya is definitely one to watch!!

Ranya Mordanova, wears her alabaster skin with style, a combination of her beautiful colouring, her signature bowl haircut and bleached eyebrows, spotlights her as a 'pixie'. She's the essence of fresh, and certainly stood out on the runway of s/s 10!!!
So those are the girls....
………..Continuing from my previous blog, ‘All Walks Beyond the Catwalk’, took place on the first evening of fashion week and it was more than a true success. The exhibition was fabulous and all of the girls looked beautiful, I felt so very privileged to be involved… Please have a look at the website to read more about it and see footage from the shoot with Kayt Jones

Summer has swiftly come to a close, and in true style London has barely seen the sunshine. I have just come back from a lovely week in Spain with the family, and now its back to work for the ever demanding September…
Having been off the blog for a few weeks, I’ll fill you in on a fey key events in July…
THE MODEL AGENT
Following the production of ‘The Model Agent’ (www.elliseye.tv/model_agent.html), myself and Erin O’Connor hosted an evening to celebrate the girls achievements. Despite missing my original flight, I made it to Dublin just in time to enjoy the evening…We held the wee doo at ‘The Bridge Bar and Grill’, and Image magazine were there to cover the evening. It was fantastic seeing all of the girls again, it was the perfect ending to our journey!
BRAINSTORMING…
Erin and I have been working on some ideas together over the past few months and so have become quite the hostesses…We had an evening for the youth at my house. Where we invited 10 teenagers over to offer their opinions on the fashion industry, trying to get more of a grasp on our target audience…it was fascinating to hear the girls opinions and the evening bought to light some very interesting ideas!!!
THE CHANEL DOO…
Erin also held a fabulous soiree, at the Charlotte Street hotel, for a selected group to view ‘Coco avant Chanel’.
My concentration was something to be desired after having had a few glasses before the film began!! But I loved the movie… It was fascinating watching the evolution of her unadorned style, and learning of her philosophy that no luxury deserves a name if it’s not comfortable. I thought it was shot beautifully and Audrey Tatou played the perfect Coco!!!
MY FIRST CASTING!!! - All Walks Beyond The Catwalk…
Having worked in the modeling industry for over 20 years. I have witnessed first hand that it is incredibly rare in fashion to see diverse ideals of body shapes. Slimness has always been equated with beauty. It will always be a prerequisit that models are long, lean, slender and tall, but I do feel that within the industry it should not be the only message we are giving out. ‘All Walks Beyond the Catwalk is an event that will showcase eight emerging fashion designers and celebrate beauty in the most diverse ways. It has been curated by Erin O’Connor, Caryn Franklin and Debra Bourne. As soon as I heard about the initiative, I was ready to jump on board! As Alex Shulman so rightly stated ‘this current trend seems to me to be out of step with how so many women feel.’ I think it is so great that she has spoken out and I am also extremely excited to be a part of this project as I think it’s about time we as an industry observe all shapes and sizes! I really believe that personality, individuality, not conformity is the cry. This is a very exciting project for me to get involved with, I think the timing is key and now is definitely the right time. I have really enjoyed joining Deborah, Caryn and Erin on their journey.
It was so interesting to be on the other side, receiving girls for casting…rather than sending them!!! The casting took place at my home, in the 27 degree heat wave. It was so great to meet all of the girls, some that I had worked with before, and others from different agencies. We spread the casting over two days, and I saw such a variety of girls, ranging from ages 16 – 70 and sizes 6 – 16, it really was incredible and everyone was so happy with the final 8 women that I cast…The images below were featured in the latest edition of I.D Magazine. Now we look forward to the exhibition…I’ll keep you posted!!...
ELLIS X
Having just returned from a relaxing break on the west coast of Ireland and being ready to launch my website, I thought this perfect timing to begin my blog…
Early in may, I decided that after a long but nevertheless rewarding 24 years, it was time to move on. For the past few months my creative ideas have been flowing, and with my career rapidly approaching a quarter of a centaury, I came to the conclusion that it was either now or never. It was a huge decision, but definitely one that I don’t regret, I have never been happier…I’m loving the freelance life, and am finally in charge of my own destiny!
One day in the not too distant future, I am extremely excited about having my own empire, but for now I have set up camp in my pavilion at home.
What with the 30 degree heat wave, the pitiless rain and the ruthless thunder, it really has been a very interesting start. I love working from home, and the pavilion is without a doubt my temple of creativity!
MY WEBSITE - www.elliseye.tv - let me know what you think
What now? …Full steam ahead, I am cracking on with my many inspired ideas, which you will be informed of without a shadow of doubt!!
I will keep you clued up on all of my activities………..
So watch this space!!!
Peace and positive vibes always
